An Equatorial Guinea Court has condemned one of the children of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Ruslan Obiang Nsue, for illegally selling an plane that belongs to the national airline of the country, confirmed a court official.
The ruling, delivered on Tuesday, ordered to serve six years in prison unless he pays the State for the missing plane, said press director of the Supreme Court, Hilario Mito, in a WhatsApp message to journalists.
Obiang NSUE, 50, former director of the National Ceiba Intercontinental carrier, was declared guilty of selling ATR 72-500 aircraft to a Spanish company and maintaining the profits.
He had been under house arrest since 2023 after an order of his half -brother, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue.

According to Mitogo, the court ruled that Obiang NSU could avoid jail if he paid around $ 255,000 to the airline, in addition to the damages and a state fine. However, it was acquitted by separate charges of embezzlement and abuse of charge.
Obiang NSUE, who previously served as Secretary of State for Sports and Youth, is the son of the oldest president in the world, who has governed the central country of Africa rich in oil for 46 years.
