The Government of the State of Ogun has appointed 1,200 political assistants to boost civic commitment and serve as agents of change throughout the State.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta, the special advisor of the governor on media and strategy, Kayode Akinmade, said the appointments are in line with the governor’s commitment to deepen democratic participation and expand access to the dividends of democracy.
He described movement as a strategic effort to strengthen governance at all state levels.
“The attendees, five out of one of the 236 rooms in the state of Ogun, will guarantee a greater local participation in governance, effectively closing the gap between the bases and the state government,” he said.
“The newly appointed political assistants must support the delivery of democratic dividends, articulate the needs of their respective neighborhoods and communicate these needs to the state government.

“It is also expected that they provide precise comments from the government to the neighborhoods and vice versa.”
Akinmade added that the initiative complies with the electoral promise of the governor to carry each neighborhood in its development programs and direct a inclusive government that values ​​people’s contributions in the configuration of policies.
The government urged those appointed to contribute to the growth and development of their rooms, local governments and the State.
