NASA’s next manned mission commander, Reid Wiseman, has revealed that he and his team are preparing to witness views that no human has seen.
Speaking at a press conference, Wiseman explained that its spacecraft will vuele on large portions of the lunar surface that never mapped during the Apollo missions.
NASA announced on Tuesday that it is directed to February 2026 for the launch of Artemis II, the first mission of the manned moon in more than 50 years.
The specialist in Mission Christina Koch highlighted the unique role that astronauts will play to advance lunar research, noting that human eyes remain among the most powerful tools in space exploration.
“You believe it or not, human eyes are one of the best scientific instruments we have,” he said. “Our geologists are more than excited that our eyes look at the moon, and we have been training to turn those observations into answers for some of humanity’s most important questions, including ‘Are we alone?’ This mission is a step to finally explore Mars. “

The Artemis program notes not only astronauts of the lunar surface, but also to establish a sustainable human presence.
Commander Wiseman also revealed the name chosen for the crew spacecraft: integrity.
“Peace and hope for all humanity, that’s what we really want,” he said. “We are gathering the world, and when you squeeze everything, it will create magic. So we are going to fly around the moon in the integrity of the spaceship.”
The four astronauts said they were inspired by the Apollo missions of the sixties and seventy while preparing to embark on this new space exploration chapter.
