The former information minister and a prominent member of the PDP, Jerry Win, said that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan would play the 2027 presidential elections on the platform of the Democratic Party (PDP) of the peoples.
Professor Jerry Win revealed this during a recent interaction with journalists during the weekend at the State Congress of the Party held at the Secretariat of the Party in Minna.

Win pointed out that the political landscape in Nigeria has changed since Jonathan’s previous mandate, saying: “In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan made it clear that his ambition did not use the blood of any Nigerian. Since his departure, the nation has witnessed several leadership styles, and the contrast has become increasingly evident.”
He added that the electorate is now asking for Jonathan’s return, indicating a desire for renewed leadership.
Confirming the candidacy of Jonathan, Jerry Win commented: “I can assure you that Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will play the presidential elections in 2027 as a bearer of PDP flags, and we trust that the Nigerians will support their return to the presidency.”
Emphasizing the democratic nature of the PDP, GANA reiterated the commitment of the party to reflect the will of people in the choice of their leaders.
He expressed optimism about the perspectives of the party in the next elections, stating: “The PDP is inherently a base party that has historically defended people -oriented policies. The Nigerian population remembers our contributions and is anxious for us to return to the government.”
When addressing concerns about the internal conflicts of the parties, he won dismissed the rumors of a crisis within the PDP, noting that any recent dispute was effectively resolved during an advisory conference in power of the founding members of the party.
In his comments, he also criticized the current administration for its inability to attract foreign investments, which suggests that “several harmful guardians” are hindering economic growth.
He stressed that Nigeria remains an environment conducive to investment, stating: “There is immense potential for financial growth in Nigeria.”
“As the political panorama changes ahead of the 2027 general elections, the PDP seems to be positioning for a significant return under the leadership of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan,” he said.
