The obsessive compulsive (TOC) disorder is a condition in which it has unwanted foster thoughts and sensations (obsessions) that make it perform repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors can significantly interfere with social interactions and daily activities.

Treatment

Patients with TOCs who receive appropriate treatment generally experience an improvement in TOC symptoms, as well as a higher quality of life and improve operation.

1. Cognitive behavioral therapy

A type of cognitive-behavioral therapy (TCC) known as exposure and response prevention (Ritual) (ERP) is first-line therapy for OCD.

2. Medication

A class of medications known as selective serotonin-reuptaza inhibitors (ISRS) is the other first-line treatment for OCD. Examples are fluoxetine, sertraline, etc.

3. Combined therapy

The use of cognitive behavioral therapy and medication.
