The Governor Umo Eno, of the state of Akwa Ibom, has dissolved all the joints and legal and non -statutory commissions in the State.

The decision, which has an immediate effect, was announced in UYO on Thursday by the Secretary of the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah.

According to the SSG, the governor acted under the Law of Legal Boards (Special Provisions), 2023, and ordered the affected presidents to deliver the highest officers in their establishments.

“The governor wishes the members of the joints and commissions dissolved in their future efforts and praises them for their roles in the advance of the Arise Agenda,” Uwah said.

In addition, he instructed that all government properties under the custody of the affected presidents were returned to guarantee a transition without problems.

Our correspondent reports that the development, which marks a great shaking in the state governance structure, had been previously insinuated by Governor Eno during a media conversation for Mark Akwa Ibom on the 37th anniversary of 2024.

At that time, the governor said he was “waiting for the right time” to reorganize his administration and promised a farewell session to appreciate the commissioners and the members of the Board for their contributions to the growth of the State.

However, it is believed that the solution indicates the beginning of a new phase in the administration’s government strategy.
