The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue has announced a significant increase in its membership, recording a total of 553,751 registered members across the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state just three months after its official launch.
The figures were revealed on Monday, October 27 during a strategic meeting of the ADC Benue State Executive Committee and 23 LGA committee chairmen, held at the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi.
The meeting, brought together by TRIBUNE ONLINE, was called to review the ongoing membership campaign and the party’s growing popularity.
Addressing the committee, State Committee Chairman Senior Chief Terngu Tsegba commended the efforts of party officials at all levels (state, local government and district) for their work in sensitizing and mobilizing residents.
Tsegba attributed his efforts to the party’s “overwhelming acceptability and great membership record.”
Tsegba urged local committees to maintain focus and ensure inclusivity, stating: “The ADC is a party for all Nigerians based on equality, fairness and transparency in all its processes.”
The meeting was attended by key state officials including the Secretary of State, Samson Okwu; the Publicity Secretary, Stevie Ayua; Prof. Cletus Tyoikyaa; Abeije Egwa; Elizabeth Allagh; Ato Agber and the 23 chairmen of the local government committees.
