A member of the US House of Representatives, Riley Moore, has hit back at the People’s Republic of China for supporting Nigeria amid threats over an alleged Christian genocide saga.
This follows the position taken by the People’s Republic of China, which condemns any form of interference in the internal affairs of Nigeria and declares its strong support for the Nigerian government led by President Bola Tinubu.
Online tribune Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning is reported to have described Nigeria as a strategic partner during a press conference while reacting to the recent threat leveled by US President Donald Trump against Nigeria.

According to him, a communist autocracy, which he claims recently arrested 30 Christian pastors for their faith, cannot lecture the United States on its foreign affairs.
“President Trump is absolutely right to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering terrible persecution, and even martyrdom, for their faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. China will not dictate our foreign policy to us and we will not allow ourselves to be lectured by a communist autocracy that recently arrested 30 Christian pastors for their faith and throws ethnic minorities into concentration camps,” reads Moore’s X post citing the China page.
Earlier, Online tribune reports that Trump, in a post on his Truth Social account on Saturday, ordered the US War Department to prepare for possible action in Nigeria over allegations of killings of Christians in the West African nation.
He accused the Nigerian government of turning a blind eye to what he described as the “genocide of Christians” across the country.
Trump warned that the United States would immediately suspend all aid and assistance to Nigeria if attacks on Christians continue.
He also indicated that the United States could intervene militarily to eliminate what he called “Islamic terrorists” responsible for the murders.
“If the Nigerian government continues to allow the slaughter of Christians, the United States will immediately suspend all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go to that now-disgraced country, ‘with guns,’ to completely eliminate the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” Trump wrote.
He further stated: “I hereby instruct our War Department to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be quick, cruel and sweet, just like terrorist thugs attack our beloved Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”
However, the Tinubu-led administration has dismissed the claim, insisting that such claims are not the reality of Nigeria’s security challenges.
