The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has begun enforcing 1,095 land titles revoked for non-payment of legal land charges.
Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, revealed the development on Friday.
“The general public, particularly property owners in the FCT, is hereby notified that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has approved the initiation of enforcement actions on a total of 1,095 properties in the Federal Capital City (FCC) for non-payment of various payments,” the statement read.
According to him, the affected properties are located in Asokoro, Maitama, Garki and Wuse districts. He explained that 835 of the revoked titles involved failure to pay land rent, while 260 were linked to violations related to land use conversion rates and other penalties.

The administration said it issued several public notices between May and November 2025 in national newspapers, online platforms and television stations, urging owners to settle outstanding payments or face penalties.
“Despite various publications/public notices made by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in some national newspapers, online platforms and television stations requesting defaulters to clear their financial obligations/liabilities to the FCTA, namely: ground rent, certificate of occupancy (C-of-O) bill, violation fine/fee and land use conversion fee, the unlisted landowners have not complied,” he said.
The statement added that the defaulters’ actions contravene Section 28, Subsections 5 (a) and (b) of the Land Use Law, as well as the terms of their Occupancy Rights.
Olayinka noted that the minister approved the execution after the last 14-day grace period expired on November 25.
“Following the expiration of the final grace period of fourteen (14) calendar days on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the FCT Administration will carry out enforcement actions on the 835 properties for non-payment of ground rent and 260 properties for non-payment of infringement fee and land use conversion fee,” it said.
