The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannah Musa Musawa, has reiterated the call for strategic partnerships and collaboration with the private sector to transform Nigeria into a global destination for tourism and business.
He invited investors to participate in Nigeria’s cultural tourism and creative assets, emphasizing that the country is rich in diverse resources and human capital that can compete on the global stage, and said the government is committed to promoting sustainability in this endeavour.
Musawa made these remarks during the eighth edition of the Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and Exhibition (NTIF) 2025, organized by the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN). The theme of the forum was “Domestic Tourism Investment and Global Partnership”, with the sub-theme “Investing in the Future of Nigerian Tourism”.
Speaking at the one-day event held in Abuja, Musawa stated that NTIFE is more than just a platform to showcase Nigeria’s cultural richness; invites participants to help transform that wealth into lasting economic growth and global impact.
He highlighted the establishment of the Ministry as a sign of a renewed commitment to position culture, tourism and creative industries as central pillars of national development. Under this vision, the sector aims to contribute 100 billion dollars by 2030 and generate more than two million jobs for young people.
Musawa also addressed deficits in infrastructure and policy frameworks that have hampered the sector’s growth. He outlined some of the infrastructure measures and initiatives that his Ministry has introduced to address these issues.
To achieve these objectives, he urged investors to consider Nigeria’s cultural tourism and creative assets, highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships.
“Today I extend an invitation to all investors, stakeholders and partners: invest in Nigeria’s heritage, creativity and natural beauty. Partner with us to build world-class cultural centres, heritage sites, resorts, creative cities, entertainment infrastructure and more,” Musawa said.
“Collaborate with us to nurture talent, promote our heritage globally and create opportunities for millions,” he added.
He also mentioned that his Ministry is eager to collaborate with organizations that can add value. The Ministry is currently signing memorandums of understanding with states and corporate entities, in accordance with the presidential directive on the employment of public-private partnerships (PPPs).
Musawa concluded by encouraging operators to collaborate with his Ministry: “I urge you to connect with us to understand our initiatives and explore how you can contribute.
“Together, we can transform Nigeria into a global destination hub where culture meets commerce, tradition meets innovation and our diversity becomes a source of pride, unity and prosperity.”
