The Bauchi State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has clarified that it is not aware of any plan or intention on the part of the State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, to join the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) or any other political party.
The clarification was contained in a statement signed and issued by IPAC through the Hon. Auwal Isah, Chairman of IPAC State Chapter in Bauchi, and made available to journalists in Bauchi on Thursday.
He stressed that: “As we also want to clarify, we are not aware of any authentic statement from the PRP that confirms the alleged press release.”
According to him, “The party president has been observed denying the statement and we consider the statement issued to be an attempt to create unnecessary controversies and speculations and we urge all parties to refrain from making statements that may cause divisions or ignite.”
However, IPAC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, tolerance and cooperation among all political parties in Bauchi State.
The president highlighted that: “And we encourage all parties to focus on issues that promote the development and well-being of the State.”
“Being representative of over 18 political parties, IPAC wishes to declare that we have space to accommodate His Excellency, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and welcome people who share our values of promoting politics without bitterness and contributing to the development of Bauchi State,” the statement stated.
IPAC concluded that: “We reiterate our commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, tolerance and cooperation among all political parties in Bauchi State.”
