The Governor of Niger, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has officially sworn in 30 commissioners, 25 elected council chairmen and their vice-chairmen, together with board members, urging them to contribute significantly to the realization of the New Niger development agenda.
The ceremony took place at the Hauwa Wali multi-purpose hall inside the Government House in Minna. Justice Maimuna Abubakar of High Court 6, representing the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Abdulmalik, administered oath of office and allegiance to the new appointees.
Governor Umaru Bago stated that these people were carefully selected based on their impressive backgrounds.
He expressed confidence that they will commit their best efforts to build a sustainable, prosperous and egalitarian Niger State.
He also emphasized the importance of reflecting on past experiences to guide the future development of the state.
In his speech, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, urged the new officials to dedicate themselves to the performance of their duties.
He highlighted a strategic retreat organized to align on shared goals and set clear expectations.
Among those sworn in were members of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), the Secondary Education Board and the Law Reform Commission.
Some of the newly sworn-in officials expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work diligently to achieve the objectives of the New Niger agenda.
