Oyo: Folarin, Adelabu and others absent as APC reconciliation committee presents its report

Aggrieved governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, Engineer Hakeem Alao and Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, were absent at the presentation of the state reconciliation results to the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Others who did not attend were former Oyo Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, Chief Asanike and Senator Teslim Folarin.

Apart from the presentation of the Committee’s findings, the meeting, which was attended by the party’s gubernatorial candidate Alli Sharafadeen, was also aimed at reconciling the aggrieved aspirants and their numerous supporters in the 33 local government areas of the state.

However, the party’s national president, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in a side interview described the reconciliation of aggrieved members as an ongoing process.

‘The APC is a family. Whatever is happening in the game is a family matter. It is normal for members of the same family to have challenges, but we are happy that problems are addressed as a family.

‘Furthermore, based on the report we collected from the Reconciliation Committee and other stakeholders, the party is stable and we are ready to go.

He added that the reconciliation process is still ongoing, adding that all issues raised by the aggrieved members of the party will be addressed.

In the same vein, the Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee, Senator Femi Lanlehin, stated that the party is making progress in its efforts to reconcile aggrieved members before the holding of the 2027 elections.

He said the committee had met all the aggrieved aspirants, adding that its findings were presented to the National President.

“We just came out of the primaries and some people are not happy with the result. They expressed their disappointment. They felt aggrieved.

“We have presented our findings to the national president of our party for action.

“He added that the party leadership is planning to meet with President Bola Tinubu on how to resolve the matter as a family.

“We cannot afford to lose the 2027 elections to any opposition party in Oyo State.

“I assure you that we will win all elective positions at all levels in 2027 in Oyo..“
