Supporters of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), known as Integrity Group, from Zamfara State have warned against electoral fraud during the 2027 general elections, saying polls will be widely monitored across the state.

In a statement issued today in Gusau, Integrity Group Chairman Muhammad Lawal acknowledged NDC Zamfara State Chairman Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako for his role in building the party structure and grassroots mobilization.

The NDC supporters group criticized Governor Dauda Lawal for what it described as poor leadership, saying Lawal possessed attributes that made him vulnerable to defeat in the 2027 elections in the state.

The group therefore endorsed former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa as the NDC gubernatorial candidate in 2027 in the state and criticized Governor Dauda Lawal for allegedly unfulfilled promises in the state.

The statement reads in parts: “The Integrity Group commends Marafa’s record in the National Assembly; he is a colossus of integrity, a man of his word who has not failed his constituents.

“Their support base is growing exponentially throughout the community, and voters are promising support without any incentive.

“We are critical of the current state government; they have not kept their promises, and insecurity and economic hardship have plagued the state.
