The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and the Forum of 23 Local Government Secretaries, Kaduna State Chapter, have endorsed Governor Uba Sani for a second term, citing what they described as a remarkable transformation in the basic education sector in the state.
Speaking, the Chairman of ALGON, Kaduna State Chapter, Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar, who is also the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area, was represented at the event by the Vice Chairman of ALGON and Chairman of Kajuru LGA, Dauda Madaki.
Madaki said he was speaking on behalf of the ALGON president and the Kaduna state chapter of the association.
“On behalf of the Nigerian Local Government Association, Kaduna State Chapter, we join the Education Secretaries Forum in celebrating the remarkable progress made in basic education across Kaduna State,” he said.
“As local government leaders, working closely with communities and education advocacy groups, we are witnessing firsthand the transformation taking place in our schools, of more children enrolled, more classrooms, more teachers trained and deployed, and a renewed sense of hope among parents that a quality education is within reach of their children.”
Madaki praised Governor Sani for what he described as political will and continued investment in the education sector.
He pledged ALGON’s continued support for community mobilization, increasing school enrolment, engagement with school management committees and collaboration with the state government.
In the same vein, the Kaduna State Education Secretaries Forum and the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kaduna State Chapter, have endorsed Governor Uba Sani for a second term, citing what they described as a remarkable transformation in the basic education sector in the state.
The endorsement was made in Kaduna on Thursday at a press conference addressed by the Chairman of the Education Secretaries Forum, Adamu Mu’azu.
The conference, titled “Celebrating the extraordinary transformation of basic education under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, 2023-2026”, reviewed interventions in school infrastructure, teacher recruitment and welfare, educational materials, water and sanitation, vocational facilities and community participation.
Mu’azu said the forum reviewed the developments in the local government education authorities and accordingly approved a vote of confidence in the administration of Governor Uba Sani.
“Having examined the evolution of our respective local government education authorities and the documented innovations presented in this statement, the Forum of State Education Secretaries approves a vote of confidence in His Excellency’s administration,” he said.
The forum also expressed support for the governor’s political team ahead of the 2027 elections.
Mu’azu, who spoke on behalf of education secretaries working in the 23 local government education authorities, said the assessment was based on records and realities observed in schools and communities across the state.
