The woes of the Nigerian team continued on Thursday when world record holder Tobi Amusan failed to qualify for the 100m hurdles final.
Amusan finished third in her heat with a time of 12.55 seconds.
Having missed out on both automatic spots, she was hoping to sneak in as one of the quickest losers.
Unfortunately, time was not enough for Amusan to earn a place in the last eight.
Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, made a statement of intent at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning her heat and advancing to the semi-finals with an impressive time of 12.49 seconds on Wednesday. However, she failed to improve that time in Friday's semi-final.
