The ABIA State Government (ABSG) has completed the plans to launch a 25 -year ABA Master Plan to guide the future development of ABA, the State Shopping Center.
The information commissioner, Prince Okyy Kanu revealed this in Umuahia, while informing journalists on Monday about the result of the meeting of the Executive Council of this week chaired by Governor Alex Otti.
He revealed that the state government, through an effort to collaborate between the development authority of the Great ABA and the UN-Habitat, has been working regularly to comply with the master plan, which said it would address the infrastructure of use of the land of Aba.

“The Master Plan (ABIA) is designed to rest in four pillars. The first pillar is the road infrastructure, transport, development and connectivity within ABA. The second pillar will deal with ABA's economic development. It will deal with industrial areas, improvements and formalization of shopping centers within the city.
“The third Pilar will deal with sustainable development and the planned urban expansion of ABA. And the fourth Pilar will deal with land resilience and flood management, which of course have been a perennial problem of that city,” said Prince Kanu.
Prince Kanu also reported that 91,227 Abianos have already registered in the Social Health Insurance Plan of the State of Abia, since the State Executive Council has granted the approval of the Ministry of Health and the Agency to extend its services to the informal sector.
He used the opportunity to announce that a new installation of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), fully installed and has become operational in the state, particularly in the Diagonist Center of the State of Abia, Umuahia, stating that the UCI would improve emergency care services and special types of surgeries that the installation will undertake.
Prince Okyy Kanu also reported that “the first phase of the Absu power restoration project has been completed, with restored and distributed energy to several areas of the campus.
“Phase 2 of the Light Project would embark once the approval is granted in that regard and reported that the renewal work of the Absu shelter are progressing well, with completed electrical and plumbing facilities, and added that the building would soon be returned to the university authorities.”
The information commissioner, who recalled that there have been some security violations in the Umunneochi area of ​​the State, which led to some deaths, said that the State Security Agencies have been put on a complete alert, since the state government would not leave any stone without moving in the activation of the entire security architecture of the State to address the problem of security infractions.
Contributing, the Power and Public Utilities Commissioner, Mr. Ikechukwu on Monday, while emphasizing the restoration of the energy supply in Absu, reported that the state government has begun the process of transferring the regulatory authority of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission to the Electricity Regulatory Authority of the State of Abia.
