An African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has revealed that the party is working on a code of ethics for leaders and candidates seeking positions in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday in Gusau, El-Rufai said ADC is determined to bring about sustainable change in the country.

He maintained that the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has failed, “it is a deceitful, corrupt and insincere government.”

According to him, the ADC constitution is unique among all political party constitutions in Nigeria.

“The ADC constitution contains a promise with a vision of a code of ethics for the leaders of the party, as well as for those who want to compete under the flat form of the party, and those who will be appointed to the government when the party wins the elections.

“What the party leadership is working on now is to develop that code of ethics that every party leader would sign, that code of ethics requires that the leaders and those elected under the party engage only in good governance activities, without diversion of public funds, without corruption or bribery,” he said.

He stressed that the ADC can only allocate positions and appointments to those who are clean and free of corruption. The ADC has better manifestos than any other party. 40 percent of the positions would go to young people.

El-Rufai further revealed that ADC has promised to bring changes in the country, asking his followers to be aware of those who would divide ADC members: “APC will not let them go alone, beware of impostors.” He warned.

Meanwhile, the deputy secretary of national organization organized a meeting of ADC stakeholders in Zamfara State, with the aim of bringing together all members after the party leaders had harmonized all ADC structures in the state.

The meeting urged members to register with the party and also get the PVC to say: “your vote is your weapon.”
