The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has again announced the temporary suspension of the Warri -itakpe train service (Wits).
This comes less than three months after the NRC initially suspended Warri -itakpe trains services on April 10, 2025 due to technical and operational challenges, and only resumed the operations of April 30, 2025.
In a statement published in the NRC X mango (previously Twitter) on Wednesday night by the NRC administration, the corporation announced that the renewed temporal suspension is due to unforeseen technical challenges.
The NRC statement says: “The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) regrets informing the general public and our estimated passengers that the Warri -itakpe trains service was temporarily canceled and suspended on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16, 2025, due to unforgettable technical challenges.
“This suspension is necessary to allow our engineering team to address and urgently solve the problems. Be sure that efforts are ongoing to restore services quickly and safely.
“We understand the inconveniences that this can cause and sincerely apologize to all our valuable passengers. His safety and comfort remains our highest priority.
“We encourage the public to stay updated following our official communication channels to obtain the most recent information about the resumption of the service.”
Remember that the NRC suspended Warri -itakpe train services in multiple engine failures on April 10, 2025.
In a statement issued, the corporation said the suspension will last the next 72 hours.
