The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has announced that its primaries for the 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun will be held on December 13, 2025.
This is contained in a statement signed by the State President of APM, Adewale Adebayo, and made available to journalists on Friday.
Adebayo, noted that arrangements had been made for a successful primary election, adding that the party would not only participate in the upcoming elections but was determined to win.
Giving more details about the party’s election, he added that the party has six aspirants for the party governorship and promised that the election will be fair for all aspirants.
Talking about the party’s chances, he boasted that the emerging flag bearer will win the governorship and defeat the incumbent governor.
However, he accused all aspirants and members of failing to employ a hate campaign while seeking support ahead of the primary elections.
“As activities for the 2026 Osun State governorship election are in full swing, we, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) have fixed December 13, 2025 for the primary elections of our great party.
“As a party committed to democratic principles, we promise that the process will be fair for all candidates competing for our candidacy for governor.
“Currently, we have six aspirants vying for our gubernatorial candidacy, of which one of them will emerge as our standard bearer on December 13.
“We are confident that whoever emerges as our flag bearer wins the governorship, we will defeat the incumbent governor because the strength of our membership is the youth.
“The people of Osun are tired of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), even the African Democratic Congress (ADC), whose leadership is former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, has shown that they cannot rescue the state from its current mismanagement.
“We want to ask all our aspirants and members not to employ slander or hate campaigns while seeking support ahead of the primary elections.
“Our doors are open for willing residents and members who are dissatisfied with APC, PDP and ADC to join our party, so that together we can place Osun State in an enviable position among the community of states.
“Party leaders also enjoy attracting more young and old people to our party, although during the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) we have registered thousands of new voters but we must work to get others who are not in our party to join the movement.”
