… Commissions Nursing College, Teacher Houses, Market Stores
The governor of the state of Borno, Babagana Zulum, approved the immediate recruitment of 50 nurses for the Gwoza General Hospital in the efforts to provide an effective and efficient provision of services in the state health sector.
He announced the approval of the nurses at the Gwoza General Hospital on Monday when he paid tribute to the Emir of Gwoza, Ideissa Shehu Timta, in his palace.
According to the governor, the recruitment became essential to provide sufficient labor at the General Hospital, which will serve as a reference center for the students of a new nursing University.
Zulum also commissioned three key projects in the Gwoza local government area in the southern part of the state on Monday.
The commissioned projects included the Gwoza College of Nursing and Midwifray of the latest generation, a new block of 20 rooms of modern teachers and 200 blocking stores recently built in the main market of Gwoza.
Zulum, who did the start -up ceremony, declared that: “Today we gathered to consciously change the narrative. We have met too many times to cry, rebuild from the ashes and commemorate our losses. But today, we meet for a different reason. Today, we met to invest in life.
“We are here to order an institution whose sole purpose is to preserve it, nourish and celebrate it. We are here to officially open the doors of the Gwoza College of Nursing and Midwifray.
“In the coming years, when the history of our recovery and the Renaissance is written, which this day is remembered as a crucial moment. That in Gwoza, in the middle of the echoes of a challenging past, we choose to build a process dedicated to life.
“The University has modern laboratories, a well -assorted library, simulation rooms and modern furniture in the classroom. He pointed out that the university will also address the problem of inadequate human resources in medical care.
“For years, we have diagnosed a critical ailment in our health system; a severe deficit of these qualified hands could not allow us to move forward. We have trusted a precarious import model of professionals from other regions, a temporary solution that is not sustainable or dignified.
“It is a model that leaves us perpetually vulnerable. Today, we go from diagnosis to treatment. We go from identifying the problem to the implementation of a permanent cure.”
Together with the University of Nursing, the new block of teachers’ personnel rooms aims to address housing deficits among teachers and provide them with decent accommodation, improve their well -being and, by extension, the quality of education.
Zulum also commissioned 200 new market stores to revitalize local trade and boost economic activities at the local level.
The stores will be assigned to the merchants and will provide a structured and safe environment for business. This will boost the local economy and increase the internally generated income of the government.
The occasion was attended by the Emir of Gwoza, Ideisea Shehu Timta, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, members of the House of Representatives, Ahmad Jaha Babawo and Eng Bukar Talk.
Also present were the vice president of the Chamber of the Assembly, AGR Abdullahi Askira, Secretary of the State Government, Bukar Tijani, Head of Service, Dr. Muhammad Ghuluze, Head of Interim Personnel, Dr. Babagana Mustapha Mallowbe and other senior government officials.
Speaking before, the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Professor Baba Mallam Gana, praised Governor Zulum for the forecast to establish nursing universities in Gwoza and Monguno.
