He Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) on Thursday revealed that more than $809.57 billion in equity investments were mobilized across 17 companies that were granted pioneer incentive status in the second quarter (Q2) of 2025.

Speaking in Abuja, NIPC Executive Secretary, Aisha Rimi, said that as we reflect on the past, I am proud to present the progress we have made, from investor facilitation and subnational development to political reforms and global engagement.

“This year has been one of renewed purpose, discipline and measurable achievements. In the first quarter of 2025, the Commission laid a solid foundation in investment facilitation, we facilitate high value investments in Nigeria.

“We made progress in expanding the National Investment Certification Program for States, continued the administration of the Pioneer Status Incentive, improved comprehensive investment center services, and advanced strategic policy reforms.”

Represented by the Director of Strategic Services, Abubakar Yerima, the ES explained that in consolidating the achievements of deepening delivery in the second quarter of 2025, the objective was to convert investment announcements into tangible projects, strengthen digital platforms and deepen preparation for subnational investment.

He specified that 713 investor inquiries were processed, “71 company registrations were provided and 186 expatriate quotas were approved.

“The pioneer status incentive, 17 companies received the pioneer status incentive. $809.57 billion in capital investments were mobilized.

“3,016 direct jobs were created in manufacturing, ICT, agricultural processing and renewable energy. Our global commitments: The Commission improved Nigeria’s visibility in the Brazil-Nigeria-China dialogue. Sweden-Nigeria Business Forum, Africa CEOs Forum and BRICS Women’s Forum.

“These platforms deepened investor engagement and expanded the project pipeline,” adding that “the third quarter of 2025 was marked by strategic partnerships, sector development, digital restoration and expanded subnational support.

“We have capital imports amounting to $5.22 billion, demonstrating the resilience and investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

“Performance. 672 investor inquiries were processed. Business registration; 189 business records were provided.

“Then, under the third quarter pioneer status incentive, 18 approvals were granted in principle, 8 extensions were approved and 10 certificates were issued.

“$227.21 billion in capital expenditures were mobilized. 2,416 direct jobs were created and we are now preparing to transition to the economic development incentives framework by January 2026.

“In accordance with the new tax law, for data transparency, we partnered with Naira Metrics to generate real-time investment reports.

“Looking ahead, NIPC is committed to expanding investment facilitation in priority sectors, implementing the Economic Development Incentives (EDI) framework, strengthening NICP expansion and sub-national competitiveness.

“Improve investor aftercare services and business support. Advance digital transformation for an end-to-end investor experience. Deepen global and domestic partnerships.

“Ensure data-driven transparency in investment reporting. Position Nigeria more boldly and strategically in global markets. Our objective is clear.

Translate investment interest into real, job-creating and income-generating projects that support national economic objectives,” said Rimi.
