Members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) in Kwara have engaged corps members in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in the state as part of their youth engagement and talent development initiatives.
Speaking during the event, a council member of the institute and Chairman of the Young Professionals Engagement Ad-hoc Committee, Engineer Sean Olabode Badiru, who led the team, said the visit was aimed at sensitizing the corps members on the CIPM as a professional body and a viable talent pool, while at the same time equipping them with essential skills needed to thrive in today’s workplace.
As part of the engagement, Engineer Badiru, accompanied by the Branch President, Mrs. Azeezat Quadri Ibrahim, among other members, delivered a lecture titled “Essential People Management Skills” where he shared practical knowledge on workplace behaviour, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork and fundamentals of leadership.

Also speaking, the NYSC State Coordinator, Joshua Onifade, expressed his gratitude to the institute and the Kwara State Branch for enriching the lecture program of the camp.
He said the orientation camp was designed to prepare corps members to become better, more responsible individuals, deliberately separated from the comfort of their parents.
He also said that the academic environment from which corps members came differed from the realities of the working world they were about to face, making such professional interventions timely and valuable.
At the end of the session, the CIPM state branch in Kwara donated plastic chairs to the orientation camp, contributing to the improvement of facilities for corps members.
Meanwhile, as part of activities marking the conclusion of his pre-induction training, the CIPM in the state paid a courtesy visit to the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, the Alhaji boss, Abdulraheem Oladimeji, to appreciate his contribution to education, human capital development and advancement of human resource professionalism, particularly through the establishment of Al-Hikmah University, the first private university in Kwara State.
In recognition of his achievements and impact, the CIPM Branch conferred on Chief Abdulraheem Oladimeji the honor of Grand Patron of the CIPM Kwara State Branch.
In his response, Chief Oladimeji expressed his gratitude for the honor and commended the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, for his leadership and commitment to excellence.
In gratitude for the recognition, Chief Oladimeji donated £1,000,000 to the CIPM branch.
The branch reaffirmed its commitment to promoting human resources professionalism in Kwara State under the IMPACT Agenda of Mrs. Azeezat Quadri Ibrahim, executive committee led by MCIPM..
