The Information Technology and Development Center (CITAD) has launched an electronic commerce platform, Shopb.Frica, designed to train companies in Africa.

However, developed by a team of eight innovative young people from the Ita community in the state of Bauchi, the platform was officially presented today at Citad's office in Kano.

While speaking on the occasion, Eng. Yunusa Zakari Ya'u, executive director of Citad, declared that the platform aims to help the owners of small businesses to take their companies online at a minimum cost.

According to him, “establishing and managing a website can be demanding, but Shopb.Africa provides small -scale business owners with an affordable alternative.”

He added “they can register their businesses without the need for development of websites or online marketing skills.”

“It is a personalized platform where all you need to do is load your products, provide descriptions and list the types of goods or services it offers. From there, you can easily connect with your customers, ”added Ya'u.

He also urged the Nigerian government to prioritize digital justice, ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender or location, have internet access.

Previously, Nura Sa'id, the main developer of Shopb. Intelligent Technology Associate Solution, highlighted the unique characteristics of the platform.

“The platform allows small and large companies to create their own electronic commerce websites in just five minutes,” said Sa'id.

“It is similar to the well -known electronic commerce platforms such as Temu, Jumia and Alibaba. However, unlike traditional electronic commerce, where companies operate under a single market, Shopb.africa allows users to create their own independent electronic commerce websites, making their products directly available to customers. “

Sa'id also explained that business owners can market their stores using social media tools and receive direct payments for sales.

“We also provide support by connecting companies with logistics companies to facilitate delivery,” he added.
