Just days after the Abuja Court of Appeal ruled that Akanimo Udofia, and not Ita Enang, was the candidate for governor of the Congress of all progressives (APC) for the 2023 elections in Akwa Ibom state, a letter appeared online showing that APC may have expelled Mr. Enang from the party.

Mr Enang He is a former adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The letter, signed by APC Akwa Ibom Chairman Stephen Ntukekpo, dated 24 January 2023 and addressed to the APC Chairman in Mr. Enang ward in the Ibiono Ibom local government area of ​​the state, says that Mr. Enang was expelled due to his litigation. on the party’s governor’s ballot.

Mr. Enang, a former senator, will go to the Supreme Court to challenge the Court of Appeal ruling on Akwa Ibom APC’s gubernatorial candidacy.

The APC accused Mr. Enang of secretly working for the Democratic Party of the Peoples.

Mr. Ntukekpo, in the letter, said that the APC State Labor Committee acted on a written petition against Mr. Enang.

The expulsion letter is genuine, Ntukekpo told PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday night.

However, Enang told this newspaper that he was not aware of his expulsion.

PREMIUM TIMES spoke to the state’s APC gubernatorial candidate, Mr Udofia, about the development, asking whether Mr Enang’s ouster would not likely cause more crisis in the party.

“I don’t know why you ask me that question. It’s a party thing. I guess the Exco of the match would be in a better place to answer that question, ”he replied.

“I am not aware that Ita Enang was working for APC. Ita Enang is a hired mole. Anyway, that’s his problem. The party will take care of it,” he added.
