Governor Mutfwang to the defect? – Tribune Online

The wave of defections, particularly of the Democratic Party of the Peoples of the Main Opposition (PDP) and the Labor Party (LP), the ruler Congress of all progressives (APC) has opened a new view in the political landscape of the nation. With two years for the next general elections, some governors, members of the National Assembly and other gladiators have begun to defect the APC.

While the APC is savoring the dropout to its fold, the PDP seems not to be able to stop the non -flattering trend. Recently, the governor of the state of Delta, Sheriff Oborevwori, changed from the PDP to the APC, as well as his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa, and other notable members in the state. Before the council of the flash could decrease, his counterpart from the state of Akwa Ibom, Governor Umo Eno, also preserved the ruling party. However, checks also revealed that many more of the opposition matches are still contemplating the crossing to the ruling party. This has continued to destabilize the opposition, while the APC continues to strengthen its control over the political structure of the country.

But many Nigerians are worrying about the moment of the lazy defections. Some observers believe that recent defections are motivated by personal interest rather than ideological convictions. In addition, they affirmed that the idea of affiliation to the center to attract the development of their states is a hoax and a ploy to influence their supporters and Nigerians. But the question asked is whether the APC is the only way to political relevance.

Political dynamics in the country suggests that more opposition political leaders can join the ruling party before the end of the year. In this sense, there are already growing suspicions that certain governors are involved in a hiding game.

Despite the numerous denials, there has been a rumor and persistent hint since last year that Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the State of Plateau, who was chosen on the PDP platform, destined to join the APC.

Since then, the governor has denied any participation in the circulating statement that he is planning to desert the progressive Congress, qualifying him for the work of the great manipulators and polarizing agents.

The governor, in a statement from his press director and public affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere, said that pranks are aimed at deceiving the public about their political loyalty and commitment to the PDP.

He said: “While this non -foundation rumor does not guarantee a formal response, it has become necessary to dissipate any wrong concepts that can deceive the public and tarnish my integrity.” I remain a committed member of the PDP and firmly keep the values of the part and the confidence that the people of the state of Plateau. The rumor that I am contemplating to leave the PDP for the APC is completely false. This manufactured story is the work of those who do not want Plateau well. ”

A source close to PDP in the state of Plateau revealed that it might not be the governor's desire to the APC, but there has been intense pressure on him in this regard. On Sunday Tribune gathered that several strategies are used to try to recruit it in the APC. The project, on the one hand, seems to be directed by Saleh Zagzzaga, leader of the APC forum of the Central North.

According to reports, all attempts to persuade Governor Mutfwang to join the APC APC

According to Zagzzaga, the acceptance of his group of the Green Cap movement of Mutfwang for the Governor Contest of 2027 and the efforts to attract him to join the APC were in recognition of the governor's performance, so the governor was called to join the APC.

However, some APC leaders in the state of Plateau have opposed the campaign, believing that their dropout would give automatic control of the structure and ticket of the Government Party in 2027. In addition, it is generating a certain amount of discontent and hostility within the APC. In a recent statement, the APC mental political forum (APC-LMPF) denounced Zagzzaga's action as antipartisanship, saying that his group should not be taken seriously.

In addition to this, Zazzaga was recently suspended by the APC Bukuru room in the local government of Jos South of the State of Plateau for directing a group unknown to the party, capable of creating division and resentment between the loyal ones of the party in the state.

In addition, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Professor Nentawe Yiltwada, the 2023 Governor of APC, has also questioned Zazzaga's loyalty and commitment to the party.

While the president and national APC leadership are interested in Governor Mutfwang for Carpet Cross, the state chapter of the party remains firm against it. The Plateau State APC Vanguard recently asked the President and the National APC work committee that condemn what he called Mutfwang's intention to join the ruling party.

Speaking at a press conference in Jos, the group's spokesman Maikor Galadima warned that accepting Governor Mutfwang in the APC would undermine the growing force of the party before the general elections of 2027. Galadima said that the APC in the state of Plateau has been experiencing significant profits with new political figures, including a former campaign director for Governor Mutfwang. along with thousands of followers.

“This support system is a testimony of the renewed confidence in vision, integrity and exemplary leadership of our current state leaders. Governor Mutfwang should remain in his party to account for his administration,” Galadima said.

Although the state president of the PDP, Chris Hassan, has denied the rumor of the dropout plan, some members believe that it would be ridiculous that the governor considers such a movement or yield to the clown of the APC in this sense, given the difficulties facing the PDP as a result of the last elections, when his victory at all levels of the elections was truncated, leaving only the governor.

An unconditional of the party declared this: “We were traumatized. APC showed us 'Shege'. At the moment, we are still suffering.

“Although we appreciate the good relationship between the state of Plateau, especially Governor Mutfwang, and President Bola Tinubu should not translate into APC dropping out because our people have not yet forgotten for what they happened. Governor Mutfwang is doing everything possible at this time; therefore, he must avoid distraction. Uniting APC should be out of their political calculations.”

Several members of the PDP, who spoke with the Tribune Sunday, said it would be difficult to persuade the typical PDP member to support the APC in the state of Plateau. They also urged the governor to concentrate on the progress of their state instead of pursuing an agenda that would affect their political future.

“It would be difficult to separate the PDP from the State of Plateau; most people who currently boast of unconditional APCs were members of the PDP before deserting.

Eight years of APC control in the state were the result of political errors committed by several high -ranking PDP officials, who have since learned their lessons. “We recognize what Mr. President is doing, but we will not defend the APC,” promised an unconditional.

According to Jonathan Amande, PDP Advertising Secretary, the governor is currently more focused on the progress of the State, and the rumors that he intends to change the APCs are a trick to generate confusion.

Although the governor is willing to remain in the PDP. It was learned that those who want to cross the APC do not give up. The APC in the state does not feel comfortable with such a approach, and PDO members are not susceptible to it.

As the progressive governor is directed between the PDP and the APC, all the eyes are on it to see if it will defect APC as it has been drawn in some sectors.
