Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo arrived at Isuofia Ward, Ofiyi Square, Electoral Unit 002, around 1:15 pm where he cast his vote amidst cheers from residents and voters.

He was accompanied by his wife, Nonye Soludo, as well as his sons and daughters.

After casting his vote, the governor described the process as smooth, orderly and peaceful. He praised the high voter turnout and the peaceful conduct of both voters and election officials.

He said: “From what I see here and from the calls I have been receiving since morning, I can say that everything is going well except reports from Nnewi South Local Government Area where a certain candidate from the area, desperate to win the council area, is reportedly sharing fifteen thousand naira with each voter.

“We also learned of the malfunctioning of the BVAS in Olumbanasa in Anambra West Local Government Area of ​​the state. Despite that, there is no cause for alarm. On the basis of one man, one vote, we are sure of a landslide victory. There is no doubt about it.”

He also said he had received credible reports that a certain political party bribed some election officials and gave them pre-written results to exchange during presentation. However, he expressed hope that INEC would live up to the trust reposed in them.
