Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has strengthened security operations across the state with the donation of 10 vehicles and 50 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force (JTF), aimed at enhancing rapid response and strengthening surveillance in high-risk areas.
The presentation, held at the Government House, Kano, is part of the administration’s efforts to enhance the mobility and operational capacity of security personnel, particularly in frontline local government areas such as Kiru, Tsanyawa, Kunchi, Ghari, Shanono, Tudun Wada and Doguwa.
A statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, confirmed that the assignment letter was given by the Director of Special Services, Umar Baba Zubairu, who represented the Director General of Special Services, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd).
The JTF Commander, AM Tukur, was represented by his Chief of Staff during the event, which was also attended by representatives of the Commissioner of Police, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Commander of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the presidents of Kiru, Tsanyawa and Gwarzo LGAs.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing security and expanding cooperation among security agencies to safeguard lives and properties in the state.
The aide to the governor noted that the gesture is part of broader measures to strengthen security infrastructure and maintain peace across Kano State.
