The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has charged the 10,000 newly recruited police officers to carry with them the values of honour, diligence and patriotism instilled in them during their training at the various police training institutions across the country.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin.
He stated that the Force has successfully deployed 10,000 newly trained officers, after completing their intensive training at various police schools and training institutions across the country.
According to the statement, the Parade Parade (POP), which took place simultaneously at all designated training institutions, marked an important milestone in the force’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its personnel base and enhance operational capability in line with global policing standards.
He stated that Egbetokun praised his commitment and perseverance throughout the rigorous training processes.
The statement reads: “During their training, recruits were exposed to modern policing standards, ethical values, and practical field operations designed to prepare them for the complex realities of 21st century law enforcement.
“The curriculum emphasized community collaboration, intelligence-based policing, respect for human rights and the judicious use of authority, all intended to promote professionalism and public confidence in policing.”
He explained that the transfer of the new group of agents was part of the force’s strategic personnel development plan under the current administration, aimed at improving security presence, improving response capacity and strengthening public security throughout the country.
He further added that at the beginning of the year, a group of 10,000 officers came out of various police training institutions.
According to him, IGP Egbetokun reiterated the Nigerian Police Force’s commitment to continuous training, welfare improvement and institutional reforms that would sustain the achievements of modern policing and ensure a safer Nigeria for all.
