A viral TikTok video shows a man identified as Pastor Oloruntimilehin Daramola, who described himself as the founder of The Omnipotence Mission of God, telling his congregation to “fortify themselves” to protect themselves against attacks.

The clip, posted on TikTok, captured the pastor dressed in a purple robe and a cap with a chain crossed around his neck.

In the video, the cleric urged his followers to take measures that he said would protect them from armed attackers.

He also called on the federal government to allow widespread gun ownership across the country.

He made reference to the merger of Nigeria, suggesting that the country’s main regions could peacefully secede if the current structure no longer works, before returning to his call for members to “strengthen themselves”.

He said, “You members, go and do something that can protect you, so that if they come with weapons to your surroundings, you confront each other and shoot each other.”

The pastor advised his congregation to use unconventional methods, adding: “Either they should get bees to chase, or if they come to your church, they should be dead before they get there.

“Go and do it. Let me tell you, all my members must do it. If I say they must do it and they don’t, I will fire them, because I don’t want any of my members to die.”

He insisted that he could not “be strengthened” while his followers remained exposed to danger, saying, “I am a good shepherd. I cannot stand by while my members are being killed.”

Citing past attacks, he argued that victims who called on Jesus were not saved.

He said: “When they reached Owo, that church, some people shouted the name of Jesus. Jesus had the power to save them, but Jesus said: ‘Until you get to heaven’. In Kaduna, the churches they attacked, several of them called on the name of Jesus, but they were still killed. Why? Jesus said: ‘We will meet in heaven.'”

He also claimed to have branches “in the United States, London and even Nigeria” and invited people to meet him privately to learn what he described as “the right steps to take.”

And he added: “If they want, they can refer to me as that shepherd who talks about charms. I have no powers, but if they put me on the ground, I will bite them.”

He maintained that any member who refused the prescribed protective measures would be expelled.

“Any of my members who I asked to use the spells and don’t use them, I will chase them away because I can’t allow anyone to come and kill my children in my presence… Go and fortify yourself!!!” said.

Online tribune reports that in recent days there have been several kidnappings in the northern region, including 25 schoolgirls kidnapped in Maga, Kebbi state; 315 girls kidnapped from St. Mary Catholic School in Niger State; and dozens of worshipers kidnapped from a church in Eruku, Kwara State, where two members were also killed by bandits during the service.
