… Sells Ondo PDP will rise again
A former president of the Owo local government area of the State of Ondo, Hon. Dupe isolated, has been unanimously affirmed as the new president of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.
In island, a pioneer member of the party, it happens to the former president of the State Assembly Chamber, Chief Bakitta Bello, who completed the Mandate of the Hon. Fatai Adams, the former immediate president, who died in office.
Other executive members chosen together with isolated include Chief Akin Oyewole as vice president, Mr. Oluseye Olujimi as secretary, Jolade Aladeta as a secretary of advertising and alarmed Akindiose as legal advisor.
In his acceptance speech, he promised to unite the interested parties and reposition the PDP for greater relevance before future political competitions, emphasizing that the task before him was not personal recognition but about collective sacrifice and renewal.
According to him, the mandate represented sweat, firmness and loyalty of party members over the years and described it as a responsibility that must be carried with humility and commitment.
He added that the new leadership would strive to restore confidence between the members and rebuild party structures throughout the state.
He also noted that the new executive was determined to heal past divisions, strengthen internal democracy and defend the constitution of the party in all its treatment.
He assured members that under their leadership, discipline, inclusion and transparency they would be the guiding principles.
According to him, “we are not strange for judgments. Yes, our party has known seasons of turbulence and tribulations.
“We have been bruised, sometimes by the enemies outside, most of the time by cracks inside, however, like the palm tree in the storm, the PDP has inclined, but it has never broken!”
He assured the members that the PDP would recover from their challenges. “We will rise again: stronger, wiser and more determined. My team and I share a common vision: unity without exception and progress without exclusion.
“While we will continue to be persuasive with our doors open to all, we are determined to infuse discipline to recover the glory of our party through a resource deliberate to the Constitution and the organs of the party of our party at all times,” he said.
Isolated promised to involve both the founding parents of the party and the younger members, while prioritizing the mobilization of women for future political competitions.
According to the role of the party as the main opposition, he emphasized that the PDP would hold the Congress for all progressives (APC), not with destructive criticism but offering constructive solutions to the problems facing the State and the Nation.
Appealing to the members to close the ranks, he said: “Let’s forget the events that divided us into factions and work together to restore trust, rekindle hope and present the PDP as a viable alternative to the ruling party.”
