The governor of the state of Gombe, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has been praised for his visionary leadership and his bold advances in the transformation of the State into an emerging center of industrial and agricultural innovation through the establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari industrial park of 1,000 hectares.
The recommendation was made by the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who described Gombe as an entrance door to prosperity and a brilliant example of what focused leadership can achieve.
The former president made the comments during a meeting with the governor in the presidential Lodge in Gombe, shortly after arriving at the State to commission the new ultramodern seed processing factory established by the first seed of Nigeria Limited in the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, Dadinkowawa.
He described the Industrial Park as a strategic and vision initiative with the future, saying: “You have done what many only speak.”
He stressed that “Gombe, under his leadership, is drawing a path from which the rest of Nigeria can learn. This is what we want to say when we talk about development from the bases.”
The former president also spoke about the central role of seed technology in agricultural productivity, emphasizing that quality seeds are fundamental to increase performance and guarantee climate resilience for farmers.
According to him, “the seeds are the basis of agriculture. If we do not give the seeds the attention they deserve, then we fail the entire agricultural value chain. The establishment of the first level seed factory in Gombe will benefit not only the state, but to Nigeria as a whole.”
He expressed the confidence that the seed processing installation, equipped with avant -garde technology, would transform agricultural results into the northeast and beyond, which allows farmers to access varieties of improved, certified and climatic seeds.
Previously in his comments, the governor of the state of Gombe, Inuwa Yahaya, expressed his gratitude to the former president for honoring the State with his presence and during his commitment to the unity and development of Nigeria, especially in the area of ​​agriculture.
“His excellence, we welcome him with deep respect and a sincere appreciation. You are the father of the nation and a patriotism model,” said Governor Inuwa.
He added that “we thank God for his life and legacy, and we are proud to walk on the road that helped to pave.”
Inuwa Yahaya pointed out that the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, which covers more than 1,000 hectares, was conceived as part of the agenda of its administration to diversify the economy and unlock the total potential of the agro -industrial values ​​of the State.
“Our goal has always been clear: create a friendly business environment that attracts investment, generates jobs and enables our people,” said the governor.
According to him, “with the establishment of Premier Seed Company, which is the pioneer project, we are beginning to see the fruits of that vision.”
