The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ibadan and the District Society, has inaugurated Salome Olabimpe Ajayi as its 26th President.
In his acceptance speech at the investiture and inauguration ceremony of the 2026/2027 executive committee on Saturday at Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan, Ajayi pledged to consolidate the achievements of the previous leadership of the body.
He promised to carry out an open-door administration where the well-being of members will be prioritized.

Salomé Ajayi added that under her leadership, the Ibadan District and the ICAN Society will focus on 13 key areas, including: education and training, finance and collection, membership issues, district projects, among others.
She said: “I cannot do this alone. I will need the wisdom of our revered past president, the Board of Patrons, the elders, the support and dedication of the executive members and the energy of all our members, both young and old.
“The members of the executive committee and I will be first among equals. Let us work together as a family to take Ibadan and the District Society to even greater heights.”
In her keynote address, ICAN’s 62nd President Hajia Queensley Segoshime thanked the outgoing executive members and charged the new executives with boosting membership, upholding the integrity of the profession and contributing to the national economy.
The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Zacharia Buba Yaduma, Director General and CEO of the Nigerian Forest Research Institute, in his address commended the previous administration and urged members to extend their full support to the newly inaugurated executives.
Professor Yaduma noted that Ajayi’s wealth of knowledge and demonstrated leadership will advance the society’s mandate at a time when Nigeria needs accountants who can drive transparency, accountability and economic solutions.
In her farewell address, the Immediate Past President of ICAN, Ibadan and District Society, Funmi Omisore, highlighted the achievements of her leadership, especially as enunciated in the 7 Cs of her administration.
“Looking back on our journey, I can confidently say that our achievements have exceeded expectations and we give all the glory to God. Since introducing the 7 Cs agenda at my inauguration on July 17, 2025, we have built on the legacy of our predecessors through continuous learning, youth development, collaboration, community support, mentoring, caring and innovation.
“These initiatives have driven professional development, impactful community service, capacity building and stronger professional relationships, made possible by the dedication and support of our members, leaders, government, communities and partner organizations,” he said..
Among the personalities present is Deacon Titus Soetan, former president of the FCA ICAN. The current Council member, Mrs. Olaitan Babatunde, Mr. Adedeji Abiodun, Prince Dr. Oyebade Oyedepo FCA, former ICAN Council member, many former district presidents such as Deacon SO Ayansina, Prince G. A Adebayo, Alh Ogunesan and Alh Banji Ogunlade FCA.
The new executives are Vice President Oyeyemi Oluwafemi Oyetunji FCA, Deputy Vice President Dr. Sileola Akinbowale FCA, Immediate Past President Olufunmilayo Omisore FCA, Secretary General Oluwafemi Popoola ACA, Treasurer Nasir Saheed Adeniyi FCA, Financial Secretary Wojuade Olasumbo FCA, Technical Secretary Olona Yisa FCA, Membership Secretary Akintunde Olabisi FCA, The Secretary of Social and Social Welfare, Oladokun Yusuf ACA, Deputy Secretary Oladipupo Olanike FCA, Ex Officio 1 Adesina Taiwo FCA, Ex Officio 2 Idowu Akintunde ACA and SWAN Representative Adedipe Atinuje FCA.
Additionally, the Investiture includes business gurus, financial experts and captains of industry.
