Israeli attacks at Nasser hospital in Gaza killed at least 15 people on Monday, including three journalists, one of whom worked for Reuters, Palestinian health officials said.
The cameraman Hussam Al-Masri, one of the journalists killed in the strikes, according to the officials, was a Reuters contractor. Photographer Hatem Khaled, who was also Reuters contractor, was injured, the officials said.
The last attack occurs only a few days after the United Nations officially declared a famine in Gaza, marking the first time that statement has been made in the Middle East. Experts warned that 500,000 people face “catastrophic” hunger.

“It’s a famine: Gaza’s famine,” said Tom Fletcher, the UN emergency relief coordinator. He blamed Israel, accusing him of “systematic obstruction” of births of help to the Palestinian territory devastated by war.
Israel rejected the evaluation, with its Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that the declaration that the famine is now present in the city of Gaza and its surroundings, “based on lies of washed Hamas through organizations with created interests.” “There is no hunger in Gaza,” he insisted.
The evaluation was carried out by the Integrated Food Security Phase classification initiative (CPI), a Coalition of monitors ordered by the UN to provide early warnings of food crises.
The CPI defines the famine that occurs when 20 percent of households face extreme food shortage, 30 percent of children under five suffer acute malnutrition, and at least two out of 10,000 people die daily from hunger or related diseases.
