Local government workers in the state of Kogi have bathed Governor Ahmed Ododo for what they described as their unwavering commitment to the well -being of workers through the consistent and complete payment of wages.
Speaking at a press conference in Lokoja on Saturday, the president of the state of Kogi of the Union of Employees of the Local Government of Nigeria (Nulge), Comrade Mohammed Sanisu Inyanya, described the governor as “oriented to God” and accredited him for transforming the lives of local government workers throughout the state.
“We gathered here today to sincerely appreciate our kind main servant of the state of Kogi for his dedication to the well -being of the workers,” said Inyanya.
“For the first time in more than a decade, license bonds are paid, and is under the administration of the Governor Ododo that this became a reality.”
He revealed that the local government area of Ogori-Magaggo has already received license bond payments for a long time that they are not seen in almost 10 to 15 years.
He also added that the rapid salary payment of Governor Ododo is commendable, since they are paid in full and at the right time.
“This is very commendable. Ogori-Magaggo workers can testify that the governor has brought hope. Salaries are now paid in total time and time.

Recently, we receive salaries from June 2025 even before the end of the month. It is a new dawn for local government workers in Kogi, ”said Inyanya.
The union leader went further to declare the support of the union to the re -election of Governor Ododo in 2027, citing his commitment to friendly policies for workers.
“We are not politicians, but we know a good government when we see it. Governor Ododo has put smiles on our faces, and for that, our trust and support has been won.
“When the time comes, local government workers in the 21 local councils in the state of Kogi will remain solidly behind him,” he said.
Inyanya also stressed that Governor Ododo was the first in the country to approve and implement the new national minimum wage at the local government level, calling him a bold movement that many other states have not yet emulated.
“Before now, local government workers could barely survive with percentage wages. But today we are smiling at the bank. He shows that the governor is leading sincerity and a genuine concern for his people,” he added.
Responding to the suggestions that the support of the union was politically motivated, Inyanya dismissed such statements as unfounded.
“Even the blind can feel the positive changes that Governor Ododo has brought to Kogi. Our support is not about politics; these are performance and results,” he said.
The press conference ended with a renewed call for union leadership to maintain the impulse, urging the governor not to give in their efforts to build a better future for workers and people in the state of Kogi.
