… Says that if something happens to Kukah, Nigeria will not survive the chaos that will befall it
Former Minister of Aviation, Chef Femi Fani-Kayode, has warned those who threaten to harm the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, to desist immediately.
Kukah had accused President Muhammadu Buhari of nepotism in his Christmas Message. He also accused the president of institutionalizing northern hegemony, saying there could have been a coup if a non-northern Muslim president practiced a fraction of what Buhari did.
His Christmas message has long drawn reactions from Nigerians and some have called for his arrest and detention.
In light of that, a chief of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Femi advised groups threatening to harm Kukah to refrain from doing so, noting that Nigeria will not survive the chaos that will ensue if they harm Kukah.
“Bear in mind that if Kukah is injured, maimed or killed, Nigeria will not survive the chaos that will ensue.”
Read their statement below:
“The sheer deception of the Buhari administration is best reflected in the stupid response that Lai Mohammed, the Information Minister, offered to Bishop Kukah in which he accused the cleric of wanting to destabilize the country.
“Since then, some reckless and misguided government-sponsored groups have called for the arrest and detention of Kukah. They have also insulted and condemned him and threatened his life.
Bear in mind that if Kukah is injured, maimed or killed, Nigeria will not survive the chaos that will ensue.
“If any of the above happens to you, the biblical ‘east wind of destruction’ will be unleashed in this country and no one will be able to stop it.
“I pray that the Government and its delegates keep the peace and do nothing to provoke a reaction that they will not be in a position to contain.
“The anger and frustration on earth today are unprecedented and people are looking for the slightest reason to take to the streets. Few would survive if they did.
“Kukah’s blood must NOT be spilled, it must NOT be killed, it must NOT be kidnapped and it must NOT be arrested or detained, otherwise the consequences will be unfathomable and unimaginable.
