The governor of Oyo, Seyi Makinde, and his counterpart from Bauchi, bullet Abdulkadir Mohammed, have extended their sincere congratulations to Muslims in their states and in Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

In his message of goodwill, Governor Makinde asked Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the State and the country, pointing out the various challenges they face.

“I want to congratulate my Muslim brothers and sisters in the state of Oyo and worldwide for witnessing the EID-Kabir 2025. Eid Adha is a glorious festival and an opportunity for the faithful Muslims to demonstrate their dedication to God through prayers and sacrifice,” Makinde said.

Makinde appreciated the Muslim community in the state of Oyo for their unwavering support for their administration, stating: “I admired them that they continue to pray for their government, which has served them for six years and has delivered an accelerated and sustainable development and continue supporting us.”

He also urged residents to be attentive during the festivities, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility. “If someone sees something, they should say something and the government will do something,” he added.

Meanwhile, Governor Balance Mohammed of the state of Bauchi emphasized the importance of reflecting on the virtues of the prophet Ibrahim and promoting disinterest and love.

“While we mark this important festival, which symbolizes sacrifice, obedience, compassion and faith, all citizens must reflect on the virtues of the prophet Ibrahim (as) and imbue the spirit of disinterest and mutual love,” he said.

The Bala Government also requested unity and peaceful coexistence among residents, regardless of differences.

“Bauchi is our shared home, the progress and stability of our beloved state depend on our collective commitment to peace and brotherhood.

“While we celebrate, remember to be the guardians of our brothers. We extend the hands of kindness to the less privileged, promote understanding between us and work together to build a society based on justice, equity and harmony,” he emphasized.

Both governors prayed for the continuous blessings and orientation of Allah for all Muslims, wishing them an cheerful and spiritually gratifying eid-kabir.
