The Office of Coordination of the National Sector (SWAP) approach under the Federal Ministry of Health (FMH) has revealed that from 172 local government areas with more cases of maternal mortality, activated 56 innovation centers and initiative to reduce maternal and newborn mortality reduction (MAMII) in the country.
The National Coordinator SWAP, Dr. Mustafa Umar Sadiq, revealed the development on Monday in Gusau during the five -day state activation workshop in the state.
The National SWAP coordinator represented by Omoruyi Iyahen explained that maternal mortality cases have been reduced a lot, but there is a need for more jobs to improve.
According to him, National Swap has identified 172 areas of the local government with more cases of maternal mortality, but 56 Mamii centers were activated.
“Mamii aims to address five care that includes delay in the search for attention, delay in access to attention, takes to assume responsibility and delay in coordination,” he revealed.
In addition, he revealed that MAMII has implemented a direct customer center and a service delivery approach and built a continuous intervention.
“We are in the state of Zamfara to discover causes of maternal mortality in the communities of the State in order to find a reduction and joint initiative of co-creation.”
Also speaking, the SWAP desktop officer, the Ministry of Health of the State of Zamfara, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Wanzamai, explained that the MAMII State Activation Workshop should have a strategic framework, demands for intervention and state initiative in progress towards maternal mortality.
Dr. Wanzamai demonstrated and explained through a film program how maternal mortality in the community increased and asked participants to be active, listen and contribute to addressing maternal mortality problems.
