* Says more trouble is coming for NPFL

By Jacob Ajom

Barcelona and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi could be going through very difficult times at his most beloved La Liga club, Barcelona, unless he takes urgent action to reconcile with the Barça hierarchy and his teammates.

Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, head of INRI Evangelical Church, Oke Afa, Lagos, said this during an unrestricted presentation to the media of his predictions for calendar year 2021 at the Church premises during the week.

He said that the greats of Argentina and Barcelona could suffer many indignities and could end up on the bench.

“Messi must watch him, otherwise he will end up on the substitute bench,” he said.

The Nigerian Professional Soccer League, NPFL, had been plagued by many troubles since it was halted earlier this year following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Most of the other leagues around the world have been up and running, but the NPFL has lain dormant, so much so that players and clubs have become redundant.

Sports Minister Sunday Dare has announced that NPFL would start this weekend, December 27, to be specific.

However, Primate Ayodele said he anticipated trouble ahead of the new season.

He claimed that the league would run into murky waters as the League Management Company, the NPFL and some clubs would become embroiled in some legal battles related to the operation of the league.

He also told reporters that the Super Eagles will qualify for both the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“The Super Eagles will qualify for the Nations Cup and could win another bronze or silver medal because the coach is still the biggest problem the team would have,” he said.

“Nigeria will also qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, but the level of performance will be a big concern.”

He said there would be a crisis in the African Football Confederation as a result of mismanagement and corruption, adding that “FIFA will focus its focus on the CAF and the problem of corruption against the CAF leadership will be amplified.”

Primate Ayodele said that the NFF should pray against death in the Glass House and that someone from the north of the country would succeed Amaju Pinnick as president of the NFF ”.

He said that FIFA will face a series of litigation and should pray against the death of a senior FIFA official.

“FIFA needs to pray well against the stampede. The Corps will be very skeptical about security and will introduce new reforms in football.

“FIFA will fight against corruption and acts of indiscipline in the parts of the players. FIFA will face some minor challenges.

“Let us pray that there is no death of a prominent person in FIFA. The Body must pray not to cry.

“FIFA must be very vigilant due to financial misappropriations. There will be some internal policies that will cause organizational setbacks, ”warned Primado Ayodele.
