The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, has been honored with the traditional title of Barayan Yamman Kaltungo by Mai Kaltungo, Engr. Saleh Muhammad, in recognition of their contributions to the development of health in Nigeria.
The conference took place during a tribute visit led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, shortly before the implementation of the Minister of Health Projects in Kaltungo.
The Mai Kaltungo praised Professor Ali Pate for his tireless service to humanity and urged him to maintain his efforts to support the health and well -being of the Nigerians.
He also prayed for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and for the success of the current reforms in the sector.
Visibly humiliated by the gesture, Ali Pate described the traditional honor as encouraging and inspiring.
“This is a call to a greater service, not only to Kaltungo but to the entire nation. I promise loyalty, commitment and continuous dedication to improve the health and well -being of our people,” said the minister.
In his comments, Governor Inuwa Yahaya praised the Minister’s contributions and reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to complement the federal government’s efforts for the benefit of the people of Gombe.
The Secretary of the Government of the State of Gombe, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who spoke a welcome speech at the Palace, described the occasion as a return home for the minister and praised his support for the agenda of the health sector of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, had previously praised the State of Gombe as a brilliant example of revitalization of primary health in Nigeria, after its implementation and inspection of the newly improved primary health center in the area of ​​the local government of Kaltungo.
The Ture Balam Primary Health Center is one of the 228 PHC revitalized by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to guarantee equitable access to quality services throughout the state.
The executive secretary of the Primary Health Development Agency of the State of Gombe, Dr. Abdulrahman Shuaibu, told the minister that the center now directs services 24 hours, attending more than 5,300 people.
“Before revitalization, the center averaged 15 deliveries monthly; only last month, it successfully recorded 27,” Dr. Shuaibu revealed, pointing out the remarkable improvement in maternal and child health results.
Professor Pate expressed his delight for the progress made, describing the model as worthy of replication throughout the country.
He stressed that the Gombe State approach underlines the importance of strengthening base health facilities to improve national health rates.
The minister promised the continuous support of the federal government for the health initiatives of the State of Gombe, ensuring that the renewed agenda of Esperanza prioritize similar interventions throughout the country.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya attributed success to deliberate investment and collaboration with development partners.
“What we are witnessing today in Ture Balam is proof that when we invest in the facilities, we encourage health workers and strengthen associations, lives improve and communities become healthier,” said the governor.
