The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, has praised the program program program (PFORR) of the World Bank for its role in the delivery of social services effectively to the Nigerians.
The minister made this dissemination during a courtesy call by a delegation from the Ministry of Health and Social Action of Senegal to his office on Monday.
In a statement, the director of Osagie Jacobs Ji (Mrs.), Infomation & Public Relations said that the program introduced by the World Bank in 2015 in Nigeria is an instrument of fiduciary strengthening aimed at improving the state capacity of responsibility, transparency and delivery of sustainable programs.
Bagudu said that Nigeria has participated in several programs for results in health fields, governance and economic empowerment with remarkable success.
He pointed out that the Program of Results Instruments had allowed the National Assembly and states to approve funds and assign more budgets to the critical sectors of the economy. The PFORR instrument, according to the minister, has demonstrated the value of spending.
The minister declared that another advantage of the PFORR instrument was a greater collaboration between the ministries, since the objectives of the results had been achieved.
Previously, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Abibou Ndiaye, technical advisor of the Senegalese Ministry of Health, declared that they were in the Ministry to learn from Nigeria’s experience in the implementation of several programs for results throughout the country.
The relevant coordinators of the projects provided a synopsis of the community action of Saving to Million Lives (Soml) Nigeria for Resilience (NG-CARES) and the opportunities of human capital for prosperity and equality (education of hope, government and health)).
The Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Action of Senegalese is on a study tour of Nigeria to learn from Nigeria’s experiences, difficulties and successes in the implementation of PFOR R programs.
