The Chairman of the Accord Party in Osun State, Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, has directed party leaders across the state to mobilize at various collection centers to protect votes recorded for the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Akande gave the directive in a statement issued on Saturday, August 15, 2026, following the gubernatorial election held across the state.
The president said the directive was necessary to ensure that what he described as Adeleke’s “overwhelming victory” at the polling stations was adequately protected throughout the collation process.
He called on Accord leaders to move to designated collection centers and demonstrate leadership by ensuring that votes cast by the electorate were properly counted.
“It is time to show leadership and protect the mandate of our people. It is our collective duty to protect the votes freely cast by the good people of Osun State.
“We must remain vigilant, peaceful and engaged throughout the collaborative process. The victory we have achieved is not simply a victory for Accord or Governor Adeleke; it is a victory for the good people of Osun State who have spoken clearly through their votes.
“I therefore urge all our leaders across the state to immediately proceed to the designated collection centers and ensure that the mandate of the people is protected,” Akande said.
The Accord President also urged party leaders and supporters to remain calm, respect the law and be peaceful as they work to preserve the integrity of the electoral process.
He expressed confidence that the will of the electorate will prevail and that the renewed mandate for Adeleke will be maintained until the final compilation of results.
