The Muslim UMMAH of the Southwest of Nigeria (Muswen) has carried out an evaluation of the two years of President of President Bola Tinubu, which scored it with the achievements.

However, the Islamic organism umbrella in Yorubalandia said that the southwest Muslims are marginalized in federal quotes under the current administration.

The group announced their positions in a statement published on Tuesday and signed by the president, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, and the executive secretary, Professor Muslih 'Tayo Yahya.

Muswen said: “The Muslim Ummah of the southwest of Nigeria (Muswen) praises President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his successful end of two years in office as president and commander in chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“In the last two years, the Administration has made notable advances in several sectors, including economic reforms, infrastructure development and efforts to address national security challenges.

“We recognize the president's commitment to lead Nigeria towards sustainable growth and development despite the complex inherited challenges.

“We are glad of our hearts that the president's reform effort has begun to give root despite the strident criticisms of the opposition. Therefore, we urge you to remain stable and continue to take Nigeria on the path of growth.”

He added: “However, Muswen wants to attract the attention of his excellence to a pressing concern regarding the marginalization of Muslims of the southwest in federal appointments.

“The southwest region, a critical center of intellectual, economic and cultural importance, is the home of a vibrant Muslim community that has constantly contributed to the progress of the nation.

“Unfortunately, the representation of the Muslims of the Southwest in key federal positions does not reflect the demographic and intellectual weight of the region, nor is aligned with the principles of equity, equity and inclusion enshrined in section 14 (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of 1999 of the Federal Republic, which requires the balanced representation between regions and groups.

“We observe the recent revelation of the presidency that almost 70 percent of their appointments have been among our Christian brothers. The fact not said content in this is that Muslims in southern Nigeria have been practically without consideration for appointments, large or small.

“While we observe the recent efforts of the administration to address regional imbalances in federal appointments, as some interested parties recognize, Muswen urges President Tinubu to take deliberate measures to guarantee the equitable representation of Muslims of the southwest in political appointments to federal agencies, ministries and parastatal.

“Inclusive governance is essential to encourage unity, trust and the sense of belonging among all Nigerians, regardless of the region or religion.

“Muswen is still committed to supporting the vision of the administration of Tinubu for a prosperous and united Nigeria in Nigeria.

“We call on the president to get involved with the interested parties of the Southwest Muslim community to address this concern and ensure that federal appointments reflect the diversity of Nigeria.

“We believe that President Tinubu, as a leader known for his ability to respond to constructive criticism, will take decisive measures to correct this imbalance.

“We also encourage the administration to maintain their efforts to address insecurity, reduce corruption and promote economic stability, since these are critical for the well -being of all Nigerians.

“Muswen undertakes to continue his role as a partner in the construction of the nation, offering sentences and support for the success of the administration. That Allah (Swt) guides President Tinubu and gives him wisdom to bring Nigeria to greater heights.”
