The president of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, recently informed President Bola Tinubu that his group of companies paid a huge N450 billion in taxes to the federal government coffers in 2024, which made him the highest company that paid taxes in Nigeria. With this important tax payment, Dangote companies are contributing more in taxes than all combined country banks.

Dangote also revealed that, despite paying N450 billion in taxes last year, the group is committed to spending additional N900 billion on road infrastructure in Nigeria. The access road of deep water port, he said, is one of the various roads built and developed by the Dangote group under the federal tax scheme of the Federal Government.

According to Dangote, Deep's access road is Port is “one of the eight main road projects that total 500 kilometers, including two in the state of Born that will eventually link Nigeria with Chad and Cameroon.”

He praised the leadership of President Tinubu, describing him as a brave leader whose administration has revived the confidence of investors in the private sector.

He also thanked the president for imagining and implementing the Lekki Deep Sea Port project and assured him the support of the private sector to expand infrastructure throughout the country.

Dangote then revealed that the path that leads to the latest generation and petrochemical oil refinery will be called Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The Dangote refinery complex is, in many ways, its creation,” Dangote told the president. “Mr. President, allow me to say one thing: the main road that leads to our refinery is now known as a Ahmed Tinubu Road ball.”

After the announcement, President Tinubu got up to shake his hand with Dangote at a time that he took the applause from the dignitaries who attended.
