The National Association of Nigerian Students (NAN) in the state of Ogun has recognized the ongoing rehabilitation of the Lagos-Sango-Aboekuta highway by the state governor, Dapo Abiodun.
They believe that this project will significantly reduce frequent traffic accidents and promote development in the state.
Gabriel Abiola Francis, president of the Nans Ogun Set Campus Committee, praised the governor for taking decisive measures to rebuild the severely deteriorated highway.
He pointed out that while the road is under federal jurisdiction, the governor worked diligently to obtain the approval of the federal government to carry out repairs. This highway is one of the most important roads in the state.
Francis said that since the construction began, the traffic flow has improved and travelers no longer face the distressing conditions of the past. He also mentioned that the number of traffic accidents, which were previously frequent due to the poor state of the highway, has decreased.
In addition, Francis praised the quality of the land movement carried out by contractors in the section of the Lafarge-Ewekoro-Papalanto highway highway. He also expressed his gratitude to the governor for his regular supervision of the project.
He added that when completed, the project will further increase the socioeconomic development of communities throughout the highway.
However, the president of Ogun Nans urged the governor to order the contractor to accelerate the work in the project, without compromising the standard that Ogun is observed.
