The Nigerian Association of Resident Physicians (Nard) has given the Federal Government a four -week ultimatum to resolve its demands, including the payment of arrears of 25/50% reviewed up and other salary arrears.
The president of Nard, Dr. Osundara Tope, and Secretary General Dr. Odunbaku Kazeem Oluwasola signed the statement, urging the Federal Government to prioritize the well -being of doctors and other health workers to reduce emigration and guarantee industrial harmony.
According to the statement issued at the end of the May Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) (OGM) and the Nard scientific conference, the Association National Officers Committee has been forced to continue participation with the relevant interested parties to guarantee the implementation of the demands.
“We demand the immediate payment of the arrears of 25/35% reviewed upwards, and other salary arrears,” says the statement. “We also demand the complete implementation of the consequent adjustments to the minimum wage of 2019 and 2024 in basic salaries and assignments, together with accumulated arrears.”
The association also demanded the immediate inclusion of doctors residing in the payment of specialized assignments, regularization of doctors Locum and a rapid speech of the welfare concerns of doctors in the complex of the Teaching Hospital of the University of Obafemi Awolowo (Oauthc).
“We give the next four weeks to the National Officer Committee to continue with all the relevant interested parties to guarantee the implementation of the previous demands, after which the NEC will re -evaluate the situation,” said the statement.
The Association expressed its disappointment due to the lack of payment of the arrears of the ascending review of the salary structure of conflicts and other outstanding salary arrears and condemned the lack of the federal government of the Government to pay the delays of the 2024 accessory subsidy.
Nard also praised some state governors for their efforts to improve the well -being of doctors, including the governors of Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Abia, Benue, Kwara, Delta and the states of ENUGU, who have implemented several initiatives to support doctors and other health workers.
The demands of the association aim to improve the working conditions and well -being of resident doctors, who play a fundamental role in the health system. Nard's ultimatum has pressed the Federal Government to address long data problems that affect the members of the association.
