While Nigeria prepares for the 31st Nigerian Economic Summit (NES #31), scheduled for October 6 to 8, 2025, attention is resorting to how the country can be repositioned to attract investments in an era of changing global commercial dynamics.

With the sub -theme, “unlocking investment in the midst of global commercial changes,” the Summit will examine how Nigeria can take advantage of reforms to strengthen investors’ confidence, modernize commercial and investment policies and develop competitiveness within Africa and beyond.

The Nigerian Economic Summit (NESG) group, organizers of the annual dialogue between the private sector and the government, said that global supply chains are redefining, the regional blocks are consolidating and the capital is increasingly flowing to the reform markets. In this context, Nigeria must take bold measures to ensure its place as a preferred investment destination.

“The imperative is clear: so that Nigeria maintains growth and prosperity, the unlocking of national and foreign investment is not negotiable. But the investment will not come without trust, in policies, infrastructure, the legal environment and access to the market,” said the NESG in a statement.

According to the main theme, “the imperative of the reform: building a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria for 2030”, NES #31 will highlight the necessary reforms to make Nigeria ready for investment.

The key approach areas include modernizing commercial and investment policies to reflect global realities, strengthen infrastructure, logistics and export capacity, improve the ease of resolving commercial disputes and investors, facilitating capital flows through the financial market reforms that expand regional value chains and boost export competitiveness.

Interested parties are expected to deliberate how Nigeria can maximize opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade (AFCFTA), position their industries for global integration and expand sectors such as energy, agriculture, technology and infrastructure.

The NESG emphasized that attracting investment is only part of the agenda; The largest objective is to ensure that capital tickets translate into inclusive growth.

“The summit will not only focus on attracting investments, but also that this investment is inclusive, sustainable and shocking, ensuring that the reforms translate into jobs, innovation and livelihoods,” said the group, “the group said..
