The president of the Forum of Governors of Nigeria (NGF), Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, stressed on Thursday the need to take advantage of constructive dialogue and all other democratic mechanisms to commit to each other to obtain better results.
Governor Abdulrazaq gave the position in a statement issued in Abuja to commemorate the democracy day of June 12.
He said: “On behalf of my colleagues in the forum of governors of Nigeria (NGF), they congratulate all Nigerians for the commemoration of the Day of Democracy.
“June 12 is a basin in our national history. Therefore, we join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other interested parties to honor our heroes and heroines who played significant roles in the struggle for the democratic government.
“The last 26 years of uninterrupted democracy have seen appreciable progress in different areas of our national life.
“Despite progress, our nation, like any other human community, has its challenges and aspirations.
“Together, we can take advantage of constructive dialogue and all other democratic mechanisms to compromise each other to obtain better results.
“As leaders of our people, we commit ourselves to work with all interested parties, including federal government, civic organizations and other partners, to expand the democratic space and make our country more fertile for sustainable peace and inclusive prosperity.”
