Niger: The Bago government swears in the new president of the Katcha Council

The governor of the state of Niger, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has sworn in the new president of the Local Governing Council of Katcha, Hon Zubairu Mohammed Essan.

Governor Umaru Bago presided on Monday the swear ceremony, in the Chamber of the Council, the Chamber of Representatives of the Minna Government, during which the Senior 7 Magistrate Court, Halima Yusuf, administered the oath of his position and loyalty to the new president of the president of the Advice.

He urged the new president of the Local Government of Katcha, Hon. Zubairu Mohammed Essan, to be committed to promoting unity and peace within the Council.

The governor congratulated the new president and promised to support him in his efforts to succeed, while asking the people of Katcha to cooperate with the president for his collective benefit.

In an interview, the new president of the Katcha Council, Hon. Zubairu Mohammed Essan, promised to work diligently to guarantee peace that would promote unprecedented development in the area.

Meanwhile, honey Zubairu Mohammed Essan previously served as vice president under the late Daithmi Saku, who tragically died on December 10, 2024 in a car accident while traveling to Abuja.
