The national secretary, of the ruler Congress of all progressives (APC), Dr. Ajibola Basiru has said that, by constitutional disposition, it is not possible that Nigeria is a unique state.
The former legislator added that the Constitution of Nigeria guaranteed the free political association and the method of competing for elective offices.
The national secretary who made the comments, after receiving some members of the PDP who vanished in the APC fold in Osoagbo, declared that, section 221 of the Constitution allows people to compete for offices with the instrumentality of political parties and there are procedures for the registration of political parties.
He affirmed that Nigeria cannot become a part of a single part that indicates that the opposition is only threatened by the effectiveness of the APC.
Senator Basiru said that “if PDP today believed that they have become that, they are so weakened and mistreated that the party is no longer a mechanism for elections, they must go and register as another political entity.
“As far as I'm concerned, we are committed to building a party that is virile that resonates with the masses of the people of Nigeria.”
The former legislator emphasized that the Democratic Party of the Peoples is threatened for their internal policy and blamed President Bola Tinubu and the APC for his crisis.
Subsequently, the head of the party asked the APC bosses and members in the state of OSun to join saying that continuous support is necessary for the brave steps of President Bola Tinubu to establish the positive growth of the nation and economic development.
“We want the members and leaders of the party to continue supporting the renewed agenda of Esperanza de Asowaju Bola Tinubu. In the last two years, the president has shown a brave leadership and has established the Nation towards the positive growth and economic development of which the country has been receiving applause even of international qualification and international economic organizations.”
In the state of Osun, he commented: “The unconditional of our party should join and make sure that 2026 arrives, our APC party will take care of the state leadership and in 2027, vote in mass for like thiswaju Bola Tinubu.”
